“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”. – Winston Churchill
The late Sir Winston Churchill, a British writer, military leader and statesman.
A man whose words resonate with myself and many others.
This quote in particular relates to all facets of life – especially life in business.
Now, take a second to think of the many times you have succeeded at something – riding a bike, completing a degree, or getting your first job. Succeeding at one aspect of your life doesn’t mean you have reached your final goal, in fact it usually takes many small successes to get there.
You may even come across some hurdles that set you back along the way. These hurdles don’t necessarily make your goal unreachable, in some cases they may even point you in a direction which becomes more beneficial in the long run.
The point is, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal”, having the drive, enthusiasm and bravery to push on is what matters.
Just like being in business… Many business owners will agree that there is a continuous cycle of numerous successes and failures.
With the Western Australian economy not doing as well as it once was, it’s no hidden fact that many WA businesses are experiencing tough times.
However, I do see WA starting to show a sign of improvement and I’m excited for what the near future holds.
Whether you are in a business that is successful, or one that is struggling, take a minute and think of what you can do to grow – modernise your fleet, upgrade your workplace, emphasise your value add service offering.
In business, we all have our ups and downs and it’s not always smooth sailing but having the courage to push on is what makes a business capable of reaching goals.
That’s all from me for now. I wish you all a happy and safe month of May.
