Another year of AFL is over and what an incredible way to end a fantastic footy season!
I have been going to the MCG for the AFL Grand Final since 1974 and Saturday’s game would have to be up there with the top 3 best games I have ever watched.
The city was alive and the crowd at the MCG was huge with a sea of black, white, blue and yellow filling the stadium.
It was great to see many familiar faces from WA who were also lucky enough to make it over to support the West Coast Eagles.
To say the game was a nail biter is an understatement…
The fearless commitment, pure talent and skill of the players was great to watch.
And although we thought that was it at the quarter time siren, the Eagles stuck to their game plan and pulled through when it mattered.
Even with three key players, Gaff, Naitanui and Sheppard, unable to play due to suspension and injuries, the team was able to regather and come away with a win.
Overall it was a great contest and it could have gone either way, but the better team won in the end.
Thanks to John Vincent and his eight executives for their company – I look forward to heading over to the MCG again next year.
Let’s hope the Bombers make it! 😊
